This lodge is located in south west Uganda and it’s stationed at Lake Bunyonyi and it’s near the borders of DRC, Tanzania as well as Rwanda. This lake is also famous for its great many birds of all sizes and it’s enclosed with green hills and covered with the farming terraces that outline the look of this area. This hotel is situated at the shores of the lake and gives a great view of the nearby surrounding. There is also room for camping as well as nature adventure.
The town that is near to Lake Bunyonyi is Kabale and the drive to Kabele will take you two hours from Kigali and over 7 hours from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Reaching at the lodge, the road is good and branches off from the main Kabale Kisoro road. As you are coming from Kampala, this branch is found on your left side as you are leaving Kabale. In case you are coming from Kisoro, you will find the road which leads to the lake on your right before entering Kabale.
The road is also marked by many sign posts and one of them shows Bird nest @ Bunyonyi Resort. It also leads to the junction that overlooks the lake. At the junction, you will continue straight ahead on the road down from the hill. When you follw this Birdnest @ Bunyonyi Resort is also the first Hotel you will pass, and seen on your right hand side and recognised by the big thatched roof. There is also parking space for about 30 cars.
The services at this hotel include; 24/7 reception desk, the baby sitting services from 8 to 9pm, all the rooms are self-contained, daily housekeeping in the rooms, booking accepted from night, there is room service for all meals, breakfast from 7am to 10am, the kitchen services until 9:30pm, DSTV with in the lounge area, free internet, free swimming pool, free use of the canoe for the hotel visitors, pool table.
The activities at this hotel include; swimming pool for free to use and the towels are provided by the pool attendants the pool table, the canoe tours are free for the overnight guests, the unguided use is at 30, 000 ushs and the two hour trip with guide is at 50,000 ushs. The Motor boat trips, 2 hour lake adventure at 80,000 and the 3 hour lake adventure at ushs 100,000. There is also the Canoe Trekking, Nature walks or community walks, the batwa trail visit and these ate the local pygmies that live around Lake Bunyonyi and its costs 150,000 ugx, Gorilla trekking, a visit to the blacksmiths of Bukona at ugx 30,000, Bird watching since this lake is a bird paradise.
